(More customer reviews)I was so excited to receive this food processor and begin using it. I was thrilled with how fast I could prepare vegetables, but I found the slicing disc to make extremely thin slices--only 2mm is not very thick! I decided to look into buying some additional discs which could cut thicker slices. However, I soon learned by going to kitchenaid's website, and by calling them directly, that there are NO additional discs or blades available for the 7-cup version besides those that come with it. So, if you think you might ever want to purchase some other blades or attachments (julienne cutter, thick slice disc, etc.) you'd better go with a bigger model. I ended up returning mine for a 9 cup version. But I can't help but feel grumpy about it, because Cuisinart offers additional discs for their 7-cup models. Why doesn't Kitchenaid?
It was a fantastic food processor, but the options were just too limited! I asked the kitchenaid rep on the phone why that is, and she said they consider 7 cup models to not be full sized. It doesn't make sense to me, though--just because you're cooking for a small number of people, why would you automatically only want small slicing sizes?
If you don't think you will ever want to purchase more accessories for your fp, by all means buy this model. But just be forewarned that you will only be able to slice stuff reeeeeally thin.

Nice work. If it's lopsided it's called 'rustic'. I make heaps of bread at the same time and freeze it - you can slice it first too.
